South African football sensation Relebohile Mofokeng could be attracting interest from some of Europe’s top clubs following an impressive start to life in Belgium.
The 22-year-old attacker, who joined Royale Union Saint-Gilloise from Orlando Pirates in July 2026, has reportedly caught the attention of German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen and French Ligue 1 outfit Lille.
According to reports, Bayer Leverkusen have already made enquiries about the availability of the Bafana Bafana international, while Lille are also monitoring his progress ahead of the January transfer window.
Mofokeng has made an encouraging start to his European career, recording five goals and four assists in 15 appearances for Union SG this season. His ability to operate as a winger or in a more central attacking role has added to his appeal.
His performances have reportedly attracted further attention, with transfer reports also mentioning clubs such as Chelsea, Brighton, Atletico Madrid and Napoli as potential admirers.

However, the reported interest should be treated with caution. There is currently no confirmed formal offer from Leverkusen or Lille, and Mofokeng remains contracted to Union SG until 2030.
A potential move to the Bundesliga or Ligue 1 would represent another significant step in the young attacker’s career. For now, his focus will be on maintaining his form in Belgium and continuing to establish himself in European football.
Having progressed from Orlando Pirates to Union SG, could Mofokeng’s next destination be one of Europe’s bigger clubs?
