Kolisi’s advocacy extends beyond South Africa; he recently visited the Welsh camp, where he distributed Wallaroos jerseys ahead of their Test match against Scotland. His actions have garnered significant attention, prompting him to urge men everywhere to stand behind women’s rugby.

Reflecting on his upbringing, Kolisi emphasized the importance of community support in sports. “Where I come from, when someone struggles, you help,” he shared on The Good, The Scaz and The Rugby podcast. “The girls are playing the same sport as I do, and they need help right now, so I go and help. That is how I was raised.”

Acknowledging the pivotal role of his family in shaping his journey, he continued, “Without my community, I wouldn’t be here. It’s about using your platform to uplift others; it’s not just about you.”

Kolisi also underscored the significance of the WXV tournament, noting how essential team bonding is for success.

WXV is vital—it creates more opportunities. As men, we have multiple games throughout the year, and that time spent together enhances our performance. The women need that same opportunity.

He concluded by stressing the interconnectedness of the sport: “If we help women’s rugby grow, the entire sport flourishes. More people will engage with rugby, and we all benefit from that.”

Kolisi’s heartfelt message serves as a rallying cry for greater support and recognition of women’s rugby, reinforcing the idea that the sport is truly for everyone.
