As the newly named Hollywoodbets Pro Series—featuring the Hollywoodbets Pro20 and Pro50—kicks off this Friday, the Hollywoodbets Dolphins Ladies are primed to make a strong start against the Fidelity Titans at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead.
Their season opens with a Pro20 match on Friday morning, followed by a double-header where the Dolphins will face the Momentum Multiply Titans in the afternoon. The following day, they will begin their title defense in the Pro50 competition against the same opponents.
Pre-season has been a time of renewed enthusiasm for the squad, and head coach Angelique Taai is eager to see their hard work pay off on the field.
The ladies are putting in the hard yards behind the scenes, and I can’t wait for them to showcase what we’ve been working on,” Taai shared. “The pre-season has felt short, but as a coach, you always wish for more time to prepare your players.”
With a focus on improving their T20 performance from last season, the Dolphins have dedicated significant time to honing their skills. “We’ve concentrated on the fundamentals and kept our approach simple yet specific,” Taai explained.
As defending champions in the Pro50, the Dolphins are aware of the expectations that come with success. “There’s a target on our backs this season, and we’re always striving to improve both on and off the field,” she added.
The Dolphins enter the new season with a stable squad, led once again by captain Nondumiso Shangase. Newcomer Yasmeen Khan is also set to make her debut.
