Unlike many clubs gearing up for just their second Betway Premiership match of the season, the Pirates have already played seven games.

Riveiro’s squad has reached the final of the MTN8, set for October, and they’ve advanced to the second round of CAF Champions League qualifying with a 2-0 advantage from their first leg. Following their 2-1 comeback win against Chippa United in their opening league match, the Bucs face Galaxy this weekend, followed by a league clash with Polokwane City on Tuesday.

Despite the demanding calendar, Riveiro is confident in his team’s depth. He stated in The Citizen, “We have more than enough strong starting elevens—almost three and a half. That’s not a problem for us.”

We managed to keep the starting lineup we had in Botswana, except for [Thabiso] Monyane, if I’m not mistaken. It’s important to maintain consistency, but we also need to introduce new players since we’re playing every two to three days. We have enough talent on the bench and in the stands.

Riveiro emphasized that those who didn’t make the matchday squad will have opportunities soon.
