The Soweto giants have brought in Nkanyiso Shinga, a 25-year-old versatile left-back who can also operate in midfield and attack. Shinga has spent most of his football career in Portugal and recently played for Alverca, a club in the Portuguese second division.
The talented defender began his journey at the KZN Academy, a well-known football development programme run by veteran administrator Gugu Marawa. He’s also worn the national colours at youth level, representing Amajimbos and Amajita. Now back on home soil, Shinga will be hoping that his move to Chiefs puts him in the frame for a senior Bafana Bafana call-up.

He will wear jersey number 74 at Naturena.

Joining Shinga is Flávio Silva, a Portuguese striker who arrives from Persebaya Surabaya in Indonesia. Born in Guinea-Bissau, Silva will bring some international flair to the Amakhosi frontline. He’s expected to provide competition for current strikers Tashreeq Morris, Ashley Du Preez, and Wandile Duba.
