Orlando Pirates continued their impressive unbeaten run in the Betway Premiership, securing a hard-fought 2-0 victory against TS Galaxy at Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday night. With this win, the Buccaneers maintain their perfect record, notching six wins from six matches in the current campaign.

Despite their struggles this season, sitting at the bottom of the league table with just one point from their opening four matches, TS Galaxy started strong and matched Pirates blow for blow in the early exchanges. However, the tide turned in the 16th minute when Thalente Mbatha struck first for the visitors, unleashing a low long-range shot that slipped through the fingers of Galaxy goalkeeper Ira Tape.
Pirates had a golden opportunity to double their lead shortly after, but Mohau Nkota’s effort sailed high over the bar after a well-timed pass from Evidence Makgopa. As the first half drew to a close, Galaxy was denied a potential equalizer when Nkosikhona Radebe was controversially not awarded a penalty after appearing to be fouled in the box.
The match turned decisively in the 69th minute when Relebohile Mofokeng, who celebrated his 20th birthday last week, showcased his talent with a stunning curling strike from distance to make it 2-0. His performance once again underlined his selection for the Bafana Bafana squad, leaving fans excited about his potential future contributions.
As frustration mounted for the hosts, they were reduced to ten men in stoppage time when Kamogelo Sebelebele received his second yellow card, capping a difficult evening for TS Galaxy.
With this victory, Orlando Pirates not only preserved their unbeaten streak but also demonstrated their growing confidence as they aim for league glory.
