In an emotional announcement, Sead Ramovic revealed the reasons behind his sudden resignation as TS Galaxy head coach, a decision that sent shockwaves through the South African football scene. While the news came as a surprise to the public, Ramovic had informed TS Galaxy Chairman Tim Sukazi before the match, and his resignation was accepted with understanding.

A Challenging Yet Rewarding Three Years

Ramovic reflected on the ups and downs of his time at TS Galaxy, acknowledging the significant challenges the club faced when he took over. “When I came, everybody knows this team was on the bottom. It was a lot of mess, let me say it this way,” he explained. However, he went on to highlight the remarkable progress achieved during his tenure.

Under Ramovic’s leadership, the club experienced significant growth, both on and off the pitch. “We had, after I arrived, with my whole staff, a beautiful three years. A lot of beautiful victories, a lot of beautiful games we played,” he said, proudly noting the development of players and the club’s overall trajectory.

Ramovic also pointed out the financial success of the club in player sales, revealing that TS Galaxy had sold 12 players to top teams in the league over the past two seasons. “If I’m not mistaken, the club got more than R40 million from these transfers, which is just amazing,” he added.

Gratitude to Chairman Sukazi

Despite his departure, Ramovic expressed heartfelt gratitude toward Tim Sukazi, the chairman of TS Galaxy, for the opportunity to coach the club. “I hope I paid him back for everything,” he said. “When you see now the club is one of the most beautiful clubs in our league, if we just get a little bit of luck and find a sponsor, the club will rise even more.”

Ramovic praised Sukazi for his vision and leadership, adding, “He knows exactly what he wants, and he has a dream. I wish him that every dream comes true.”

Personal Reasons Behind the Decision

While his professional journey with TS Galaxy was filled with growth and achievement, Ramovic’s resignation also stems from deeply personal reasons. The 48-year-old coach explained that after three years in South Africa, it was time for him to spend more time with his aging parents.

“My father is 76, and my parents are getting older. They came with me when I arrived, but they only stayed for eight months. Now, they cannot fly so much. You never know how much time you have left with your parents,” Ramovic said, visibly emotional. “It’s time for me to be with them, and I want to spend more time with my family.”

The Road Ahead

Looking to the future, Ramovic is not closing the door on coaching but wants to wait for the right opportunity. “I’m just going to take a different path now and wait for the right offer, the right club. If that offer comes, I will try my best,” he said. “But if not, I will just say Alhamdulillah because I had a beautiful time here.”

Ramovic concluded his heartfelt farewell, acknowledging that despite the challenges, his time at TS Galaxy was an experience he would always treasure. “I hope I improved, and I hope somebody learned something from me. If not, I apologise, but I tried my best.”
