What are multigoals?
Multigoal betting involves selecting a predetermined range of goals to be scored in any given football game, regardless of which team emerges as the winner. Essentially, you bet on the total number of goals scored during the match, predicting whether it will fall within the chosen range.
For instance, a multigoal range could be set at 2-4, indicating that if two, three, or four goals are scored in the game, you would be declared the winner. These calculations are based on the goals scored within the standard 90 minutes.
These bets are offered in different ways. Hollywoodbets let you bet on how many goals will be scored in the first/second half in isolation as well at the final whistle.
When you bet on the total number of goals in a game, you don’t have to worry about which half the goals are scored in or which team scores them – just that the total number of goals scored falls within your chosen range.
For example, let’s say you’re betting on a game between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs. After looking at their line ups, recent form, and previous game results, you might decide that the final score will involve a total of between two and five goals.
This means you will chose the 2-5 multigoal market as you expect the game to have either 2, 3, 4 or five goals in total. Your bet will be lost if:
- No goals were scored in the entire match.
- The game ends with fewer than 2 goals.
- The total numbers of goals scored in the game exceeds 5.
Subtypes of multigoal bets
There are many different types of multigoal bets. For instance, you can choose to bet on the number of goals scored in the first half or the second half of a game.
You also have the choice to bet on the total number of goals for either the home or away teams. Below, we cover some of the multigoal types so you get a clear understanding of this market.
Home or away team multigoals
Here we’re looking at whether the HOME or AWAY team manage to score a number of goals that fall within a certain range.
Let’s say Orlando Pirates is playing against Kazer Chiefs, and you choose Pirates to score between 2 and 4 goals. At the end of the game, for you to win the bet, Pirates need to score either 2, 3, or 4 goals.
This bet is not affected by the result of the match or how many goals the other team scores. All you need to worry about is whether your selection (Pirates) score 2, 3 or 4 goals.
First half and second half multigoals
In this bet, you have to correctly guess how many goals will be scored in either the first or second half of a match. For instance, if Mamelodi Sundowns is playing against Supersports United and you choose 2-3 goals for the first half, it means that both teams need to score a total of either 2 or 3 goals in the first half for you to win.
You don’t need to worry about what happens in the second half unless you bet on multiple goals specifically for the second half.
