The World Champions had a promising start during their recent visit to South America, taking a 17-0 lead with some clinical rugby.

However, the hosts, Los Pumas, fought back fiercely, showcasing their counter-attack capabilities and ultimately overcoming the Springboks.
This week, head coach Rassie Erasmus is keenly aware of the threats posed by Los Pumas and aims for his players to dictate the game.
A significant boost to this strategy comes from the return of several rested players, including captain Siya Kolisi, Bongi Mbonambi, Frans Malherbe, Pieter-Steph du Toit, Damian de Allende, and Cheslin Kolbe.
We believe our chances improve with six fresh players on the field, alongside Eben [Etzebeth] who didn’t play a full match last week and a slightly fresher Siya,” Erasmus noted during a press conference.
He acknowledged that Los Pumas prefer a fast-paced, loose style of play, fueled by a roster featuring many Sevens players.
They have a coach with a clear vision and a team that knows how to execute it,” Erasmus said. “We will plan to impose our game this weekend, something we didn’t fully achieve last time.”
Mbonambi, returning to the starting lineup for the finale in Mbombela, echoed his coach’s thoughts. “I truly believe we have more answers than questions from that game,” the hooker remarked. “We had a review on Monday, a reality check to ensure we stay focused and not get sidetracked. We know we need to take the game to Argentina.”
With both teams set to clash, the Springboks are determined to reclaim control and secure a vital win.
